Role: Enterprise Inside Sales Representative
Team: Inside Sales
Why did you join Fast?
I joined Fast because I see the long-term vision for the product. We have the opportunity to make consumer purchasing better and easier in nearly every function of society. We can eliminate global friction points and create a trusted identity network not just for the future of the internet, but for the future of society.
What were you doing before?
I was a business development representative at Oracle, where I worked on their ISV (Independent Software Vendors) team setting meetings for our ISV Cloud Team with some of the world's largest SaaS organizations.
Where did you grow up, and what were you like as a kid?
I grew up in a small town called Mebane, North Carolina, on a small dairy farm that has since closed its doors. As a kid, I was very tenacious inside and outside the classroom. I pride myself in my work and I've had a job since I was 8. By 18 I'd done everything, including mowing lawns, delivering pizza, and working with our school system's superintendent to advance access to technology to low-income students.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am most proud of graduating from UNC Chapel Hill, debt free. When I turned 16, I was fortunate that my parents could buy me a nice enough car that would last me through college. That night, they sat me down and told me that from that moment I would be on my own financially. In school, I gained a skillset in sales and operations that allowed me to financially support myself even through some of the most challenging periods of my life to eventually graduate with a degree from Kenan-Flagler Business School.
What’s your productivity hack?
My productivity hack is creating a to-do-list every morning of non-negotiables. As I walk down the list, I physically check them off. Recycling the sticky-note at the end of every day with each box checked always reminds me that even when I may not find the results I'm looking for, I'm continuing to make progress. Oh, and EDM in my AirPods from dawn to dusk.
When did someone’s kindness toward you make a big difference in your life?
Elizabeth Betson (Account Executive, Growth at Fast) and Ashley Ko (Account Manager, Growth at Fast) both mentioned me in a morning meeting to Roger while I was recruiting myself to Fast. They became close friends of mine throughout the process and really vouched for my passion for what we're building here and I'm reminded of that every day. If y'all are reading this, you're the best!
Who’s your celebrity doppelgänger?
My celebrity doppelgänger is Ashton Kutcher (I'm dressing up as him for Halloween this year).
Living or dead, who would you like to interview and why?
This is going to be emotional, but I'd like to interview my dad. He passed away in 2018 before I ever got the chance to really know him. There are so many questions that I wish I could ask that I'll never get the answer for directly.
What’s your top travel destination?
My top travel destination is Cape Town, South Africa. I visited for a week in the summer of 2018 and it was one of the greatest cultures, foods, and landscapes I'd ever experienced.
Where do you see yourself a year from now?
A year from now, I see myself in Account Management at Fast. I have a grand vision of working on secret activations to showcase the extent of scope our technology can reach, working with our product team and the world's most innovative companies to test potential changes in consumer behavior.
