Role: Account Executive (Enterprise) at Fast
Team: Enterprise Sales
Why did you join Fast?
I joined Fast because I felt immediately connected to the people and the product. I wanted to be in the fintech or e-commerce space, and Fast happened to tick both those boxes. Also, with selling any type of product, the most important thing to me is the actual people I work with every day making sure I feel connected to my team and that we’re aligned on values is critical to my success as a sales person.
What were you doing before you joined Fast?
I was at Pantheon, where I onboarded some of the company’s first Fortune 500 customers and worked primarily with our Google Cloud Platform partners and customers.
Where did you grow up, and what were you like as a kid?
I grew up in Northern California, in a suburb of San Francisco called San Mateo. As a kid, I was pretty crazy, loud, and energetic, so being outside a lot and exercising was very important to me.
Are you the same way now?
A little bit! I still need to get outside as much as possible and move my body. Nature and movement are very important to me. They help me focus.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Being a scuba diving instructor. I taught teenagers when I was teaching more regularly, and sharing my love of the ocean with younger people and helping them understand not only the beauty but the importance of coral reef systems was so rewarding. I love talking about the Earth’s oceans with everyone.
What are your productivity hacks?
Meditation, movement, and handwritten to-do lists.
When has someone’s kindness toward you made a big difference in your life?
The first person who comes to mind is my sister. I feel fortunate and grateful every day that I have an incredible relationship with her. She's someone who always has time for others, and being able to connect with her regularly and having had her support throughout the decades has helped me become a better person and bring out my best self, even when times are rocky.
Living or dead, who would you like to interview and why?
Jacques Cousteau, he’s an all around legend of aquatic exploration and conversation. Or Ferdinand Magellan, another aquatic explorer. He was the first person to circumnavigate the earth and his book is spellbinding (Over the Edge of the World). The oceans they experienced teemed with roughly 90% more life than the oceans we see today. I would be enraptured listening to firsthand accounts of their adventures. Those would be some pretty crazy stories!
What food can you uncontrollably eat?
Guacamole. Fresh, chunky, au naturel guac.
What is your top travel destination?
I love traveling! I’ve traveled quite a bit, and am so grateful for the privilege. I have not been to Japan. I would love to go there in the winter to go snowboarding, and immerse myself in the culture, architecture, and yummy foods.
Where do you see yourself a year from now?
Super-fueling Fast and continuing to grow this company. We have an immense opportunity and I love that every Fastronaut is giving 120% everyday. I see myself onboarding more incredible companies in a year from now and using my learnings over the past year to drive more efficient success. Also, I see myself exploring the U.S. and perhaps South America, thanks to Fast Flex, which allows us to choose where we work.
