Why did you join Fast?
The culture! I felt the energy and passion from the team even over social media, and I especially loved the employee profiles. I noticed one from a recent hire, and I appreciated new kids on the block being celebrated as much as others. Fast seemed like a perfect culture fit.
What were you doing before?
I was in marketing for a San Francisco-based cloud analytics company. I started in sales, then moved to events. With the pandemic, I became a marketing catch-all.
Where did you grow up, and what were you like as a kid?
I grew up in a suburb of Portland, Oregon, called West Linn. When I was young, I was scared of the world. I was painfully shy and clung to my mother’s leg even at family gatherings. Around 10 years old, I became incredibly outgoing and social. I’m unsure how the switch happened, but I am grateful for it.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Where I am right now! In college, I never saw myself working in tech, let alone knew it was an option for me. I’m very proud of how much I’ve learned and grown in the past few years.
What's your productivity hack?
Delegating. I learned I do not need to do everything to be a valuable teammate.
When did someone's kindness toward you make a big difference in your life?
I was pretty sick for a period of time a couple years ago. My roommate at the time was a night shift nurse at the University of California, San Francisco. Even after working all night, she made sure I had everything I needed: medicine, food, and companionship. Seeing how she took care of me when she had no time to meant the world to me.
Living or dead, who would you like to interview and why?
My mom’s parents both passed away when she was a teenager. I would love to meet them and ask about their lives and share some 2021 updates with them.
Who is your celebrity doppelgänger?
Julia Louis-Dreyfus or Betty Boop.
What is your top travel destination?
I love visiting Latin America! Nothing beats the food and culture. But I really want to try new places before repeating.
Where do you see yourself a year from now?
Ideally in a position with Fast that combines my knowledge of our customer and my passion for bringing people together. Or on a vacation in Spain. I’m open to both.
