Leila Horejsi (top right), VP, Strategic Account Management at Fast

Leila Horejsi

Role: VP, Strategic Account Management

Team: Strategic Account Management

Why did you join Fast?

I joined Fast because of the incredible opportunity to work with visionary leaders, team members, and partners. Building and growing Fast's technology footprint across the internet is going to push us all to the limits of learning and discovery, and I am pumped to be a part of it!

What were you doing before?

My previous role was as the vice president of customer success at Outreach. Prior to that, I spent time at Sprinklr as vice president of success and 12 years at Adobe in sales, account management, and customer success.

Where did you grow up, and what were you like as a kid?

I was born, raised, and currently live in Seattle. As a kid I was super active, loved all sports, read tons of books, and was fascinated with words and definitions (I read the dictionary). I also enjoyed playing outside with my brother and all of the neighborhood kids, often staying out until the street lights came on.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

As a first generation, American-born Asian/Pacific Islander, I am proud of my accomplishments both in my career and most especially with my family. My success has been my family’s success – providing for my immediate and extended family in the U.S. and in the Philippines, as well as giving back to our community. I believe success goes hand in hand with generosity, kindness, love, family, and community, and what my family has built here was a jumping off point for my work ethic, dedication, and commitment to success. I am proud of what we’ve achieved as part of the American Dream and am grateful to my parents for giving me the opportunity to build a successful life and family, and provide to others who are underserved and in need.

What’s your productivity hack?

I take copious notes and still create a daily to-do list. Notes help me stay focused, and the daily to-do list helps with prioritization.

When did someone’s kindness toward you make a big difference in your life?

My brother passed away at age 18. As you can imagine, I was incredibly devastated and angry. A distant friend of our family pulled me aside because she could sense my spiral. What she said to me changed my life and enabled me to dive into my grief, leveraging therapy and family counseling as a way to cope and eventually learn to love my life again. Without her wisdom and caring, I don’t believe I would have been able to move forward with life as I have today – and I am forever grateful for that.

Who’s your celebrity doppelgänger?

I’ve been told that I resemble Ann Curry or Joanna Gaines.

Living or dead, who would you like to interview and why?

Living: Michelle and Barack Obama. They are fascinating people individually and as a couple, and I have so much respect for them and what they’ve done for our country and the world.

Dead: Nelson Mandela. His ability to see the good in people and situations in every stage of his life is something that I aspire to.

What’s your top travel destination?

Top travel destinations: We love Hawaii (I know, boring), and are planning a family trip to Spain, Italy, and Greece once the pandemic has subsided.

Where do you see yourself a year from now?

Career-wise: Continuing this awesome journey with Fast to make us the top payment and identity platform and building a phenomenal team of account managers who inspire deep partnerships and happy customers!

Personally: Hopefully life will shift back to a more normal balance outside of the pandemic and we can begin creating memories and experiences with family and friends through travel, food and time together!
