Talk about your background leading up to Fast

I've actually known Domm Holland (Co-Founder and CEO at Fast) personally for quite some time, and I used to run a digital marketing agency that was quite successful and worked with Domm's various companies and organizations over the years. So we became even better friends through that. I've very closely followed the journey of Fast, and as everything was progressing, Domm and I were talking about upcoming positions in APAC (Asia-Pacific) and ANZ (Australia-New Zealand), and as soon as there was a position available, I jumped at the chance.

Where did you grow up, and what were you like as a child?

I grew up in Australia, in Brisbane. I spent some time in Victoria and Melbourne, as well. I was the only child. My dad's a part-time artist. My mom was a bit of a hippie, so I've always grown up being interested in music and art, and I was an avid reader and writer. I've always been quite creative and I was reading some pretty in-depth and very mature books for my age. I've always loved communicating with people, and I was always surrounded by adults, so I grew up quite quick, which was cool.

What was your first job ever?

I was a cleaner at the office that my mum worked at. I think I was 13. I used to go in there after school and clean all her boss's offices and vacuum floors and all of that sort of thing. I've always been super ambitious. I always put my hand up for hard work and always looked for opportunities to earn money and create different skills. And I think the communicating with adults thing definitely helped back then, too.

Which public figure do you admire the most and why?

I really admire Jay-Z, the odds that he's overcome. He's an extremely talented artist, as well as extremely talented. He gives back to the community through various charity work and initiatives. I think he's an empowering individual and built something amazing and a really cool legacy.

What app on your phone do you use the most?

I would say pre-Fast it was Instagram. But since Fast, it's definitely Slack. I think Slack is such a cool channel to be able to connect and being the first employee in ANZ region, Slack makes me feel like I'm almost in the office space with everyone.

What food do you uncontrollably eat?

On my mom's side, I'm part Italian, so it's definitely Italian food, like lasagna and pizza and pasta. I eat so much of that.

Who is your favorite TV or film character?

James Bond. I've got quite a large collection of James Bond stuff. I've got rare books. I’ve got a lot of the first-edition books. I've got a lot of the coins and things that have been put out by the various mints over the years. I've got a lot of rare clothing, definitely from the modern movies. I've been a very avid fan since I was a little kid. So that's something that stayed consistent with me.

What personal goal would you like to achieve in the next five years?

My partner and I are building a beach house up at the Sunshine Coast, north of Brisbane. So one goal would be to complete that project properly and to a high standard. Another would be visiting the team in the U.S., world allowing, and making as big of an impact as I can with my skills in the ANZ region for Fast. That's my No. 1 goal.
