Role: Head of Inside Sales
Team: Inside Sales
Why did you join Fast?
I love the e-commerce space, having worked in it for more than four years. I always look at products that I would and currently use and see what companies are behind them. With Fast, it was a no-brainer, as we have a disruptive technology that’s solving so many problems for so many online buying problems for everyone. Having the opportunity to join the company at such an early stage was a huge benefit to me. I also enjoyed all of the people I interviewed with and felt their passion when they were speaking about the company and product.
What were you doing before?
I was leading sales development for North America at Unity Technologies.
Where did you grow up, and what were you like as a kid?
I grew up on the North Side of Chicago (Go Cubs!) and was very money-motivated and sales-oriented even as a kid. My mom loves telling the story of me working at the beach during high school summers; I would buy ice cream and popsicles in bulk and undercut the ice cream truck. I also played lacrosse in high school and college, which still helps me on many levels today.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Marrying my wife! My persistence (she wanted nothing to do with me when I first met her) paid off, and I moved from Miami to Houston to be with her nearly seven years ago – the best decision I have made. She challenges and pushes me to be the best version of myself each and every day, and for that I am incredibly grateful.
What's your productivity hack?
I keep a notepad next to me at all times. I write down actionable things that come up throughout the day with an associated timeline. This helps me prioritize and remember tasks. Also, I am a huge fan of block scheduling (ask anyone on my team).
When did someone's kindness toward you make a big difference in your life?
My parents divorced when I was very young, so my grandmother moved in with my mom and me to help. My grandmother was the kindest person I have ever known and would constantly sacrifice things in her life to make mine better. She taught me above all else to be kind and use empathy with all people, as "people are the greatest currency you can ever have."
Living or dead, who would you like to interview and why?
My grandfather on my mother’s side. I was too young to remember him when he passed away, and the way people recount stories of him to this day makes me envious that I never got to know him.
Who is your celebrity doppelgänger?
I get Adam Pally and Liev Schreiber a lot, depending on my haircut at the time.
What is your top travel destination?
My favorite place thus far and where I would like to retire is Barcelona, Spain. Anyone who knows me knows travel is something I live for, which has made the limitations of this pandemic that much harder to deal with.
Where do you see yourself a year from now?
At Fast, obviously, but really I am looking to build off the early success the team and I have had to date, and grow my responsibilities and team out on a global scale.
